After moving back to Newcastle in the late 90's, I fell into financial services, working for a bank advising on mortgages. It was whilst there that I gained my qualifications and a passion for helping clients finance their home. After becoming frustrated with the corporate world in 2005, I decided to set up on my own, hence Metro Mortgages. I have always ensured that we adopt the philosophy of a "straight talking approach" to ensure a hassle free process.

Those who know me would describe me as a big family man with a huge appetite for life. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, sport, travel and shooting.



Mortgage & Protection Consultant, CeMAP

After 29 years working for one of the major banks, the last 14 in various mortgage departments; starting as a Mortgage Adviser and working my way up to the North Regional Manager dealing with Mortgage Brokers, I decided the time had come for me to leave the Corporate world and set up on my own. Initially in 2008 I set up as a sole trader then last year joined forces with Metro Mortgages to combine 2 very successful businesses into a Partnership ensuring we will have continuity and service for our clients for many years to come.

On a personal note I enjoy walks in the Weardale countryside, where I live with my partner and our 2 black Labradors and family time with my grandchildren.


Mortgage Administrator and Protection Consultant


I previously worked in a number of customer service based roles, one being with one of the major banks as a Telephone Business Development Manager. These roles have given me the skills and knowledge I need to support and help our clients with the progression of their applications.


I have just completed my training to become a protection and general insurance advisor. I will now be using these new-found skills to help our clients, providing them with a bespoke tailored insurance solution, specialising in helping people with Diabetes and other health issues.


Personally, I am married with two children and outside of work we enjoy family time with day trips out to the zoo and visiting friends.


Mortgage Administrator


As a full time administrator it is my responsibility to ensure that all admin is completed in an accurate and timely manner.  It is also very important that I assist in progressing the pipeline and ensuring our clients are looked after.  I have had many years’ experience in administration in both the finance and insurance sector and therefore can use my knowledge to ensure a stress free process for our clients.On a personal level I have recently got married to Steve and I also have a 20 year old son called Joseph. I enjoy spending time with my friends and family , cooking and socialising


Office Manager


As Office Manager, it is my responsibility to liaise between the Mortgage and Protection Consultants and the admin team, to ensure all aspects of the business run smoothly. I also manage a range of projects aimed at improving the products and services we offer.

Before joining Metro Mortgages, I spent 18 years working for a major UK airline. I started in the sales team, followed by handling customer complaints and delivering training, and finally worked as a Project Manager for the Customer Relations team. This experience means I have a caring, personal approach when dealing with each of our clients’ needs, along with a proactive 'can do' attitude that delivers results.

Outside the office my passions are my family and travelling. I also enjoy showing and breeding miniature smooth-haired dachshunds.
